Only the strongest buildings survived
The Pantheon and the Colosseum still stand, so we picture every Roman structure as a marvel of engineering. But the weak buildings crumbled centuries ago and left nothing to admire. We are looking at a filtered sample of their best work, not a fair picture of how they usually built.
