The Delegation Framework

Decide what to delegate using these criteria:

• Is someone else capable of doing this well? A solid match on skill means the small quality gap is rarely worth your time. Hand it off.
• Is this a growth opportunity for someone? Delegation builds other people's skills and confidence. Keeping everything yourself stunts the team.
• Does this require your unique judgment? If the task can be done from clear instructions, it does not require your brain. Delegate it.
• What is the opportunity cost? Every hour on this task is an hour not spent on something more valuable.
