LESSON 4 · The Confidence Project

The Comparison Machine

Social media has industrialized comparison. Every day you scroll past hundreds of hand-picked images: flattering light, practiced angles, heavy editing, sometimes surgical enhancement.

Your brain quietly files all of it as the new "normal." In reality you are seeing the top sliver of the top sliver, then polished further by software.

The fix is not standing in front of the mirror repeating affirmations. It is cutting your exposure to impossible standards. Curate your feed on purpose. Unfollow accounts that leave you feeling smaller. Follow real, unedited, varied bodies instead.
