LESSON 4 · Escape Toxic Patterns
Measuring Real Progress
If healing is not linear, how do you know you are making progress? Watch for four signs.
Pattern recognition speed. Early on, you only spot your patterns long after the fact. Progress means catching them sooner — eventually in real time.
Emotional intensity. What once caused a full meltdown now produces a manageable wave you can ride out.
Recovery time. A setback that used to take you out for a week now passes in a day. How fast you return to baseline is one of the most reliable signs.
Behavioral change. You pause before reacting. You set a boundary instead of accommodating. You reach out instead of isolating.
