Micro-Connections Matter

You don't need a weekend retreat to rebuild intimacy. Brief, daily moments of genuine connection matter more than occasional grand gestures. A lingering kiss goodbye. Eye contact when they walk in. Asking "What was the best part of your day?" and actually listening.

Gottman calls these rituals of connection — small, predictable moments where you choose each other over everything else competing for attention. They take seconds but compound into the feeling of being known and chosen every single day.
