Responsive vs. Spontaneous Desire
Spontaneous desire — arousal that appears without prompting — is more common in men, while women more often experience responsive desire, where arousal emerges in response to context, touch, or emotional connection.

If you wait for spontaneous desire to show up and it doesn't, you might conclude you're no longer attracted. That's wrong. Responsive desire means you need the right context first — safety, stress reduction, connection, anticipation. With responsive desire, wanting often comes after you start, not before.
