LESSON 1 · Modern Marriage Essentials

Renegotiating Intimacy

Sexual intimacy after children requires honest conversation that most couples avoid. Sleep deprivation, body changes, hormonal shifts (especially for breastfeeding mothers), and the mental load of parenting all affect desire. Neither partner is wrong for wanting more or less.

Start with a conversation that has no agenda: "How are you feeling about us physically?" Listen without defending. Many couples discover the real barrier is not attraction but exhaustion and resentment over unequal labor.
