Your Pattern-Breaking Plan

Map your relationship history. Write down who you chose, what went wrong, and how it ended. Look for the common thread across multiple relationships.

Identify the trigger moment — the point where the pattern activates. For anxious attachers, it might be when a partner withdraws. For avoidant types, it might be when intimacy deepens. Knowing your trigger gives you a decision point where you can choose differently.

Practice the opposite response. If you usually pursue when someone pulls away, sit with the discomfort instead. If you usually withdraw when things get close, practice staying present.
