Triggers Are Personal
Every parent has specific triggers. For some, it is defiance. For others, whining. For many, the feeling of being ignored. These triggers often trace back to your own childhood.

Identifying your triggers creates a gap between stimulus and response. When you know whining is your trigger, you can catch yourself the moment it starts. That gap — even half a second — is enough to choose a different response.
