Logic Fails Mid-Meltdown
When a child is screaming, their limbic system has taken over. The logical brain is offline. Explaining why they cannot have ice cream right now is like trying to reason with a fire alarm. It cannot hear you.

Co-regulation works because children borrow emotional states from the adults around them. If you escalate, they escalate. If you stay steady, their nervous system gradually matches yours. Your calm is contagious, but only if you offer it through words and body language they can receive.
