LESSON 4 · Break the Yelling Cycle

The Family Version

The reset also works as a group ritual, done together right after the after-school chaos settles. It turns a solo habit into a shared one.

The team version: everyone stops. Three deep breaths together. One sentence each — "My day was _____." Then a physical connection, like a family hug or eye contact with a genuine smile.

This tiny ritual separates the stress of the day from the potential of the evening. Without it, frustration from work and school bleeds into dinner, homework, and bedtime. With it, you draw a clear line: everything before the reset stays behind you, and the evening starts fresh.
