LESSON 1 · Release the Parent Guilt
Guilt Versus Shame
Guilt says "I did something bad." Shame says "I am bad." This distinction is critical. Guilt about a specific action is healthy and motivating. Shame about your identity as a parent is corrosive and paralyzing.

The antidote to shame is vulnerability and connection. Tell another parent how you feel. Nine times out of ten, they will say "me too." Shame thrives in silence and isolation — it dissolves the moment you discover that your private failures are actually universal experiences.
