LESSON 3 · Release the Parent Guilt

Trade Guilt For Evidence

Guilt loves vague verdicts: I was a terrible parent today. Fight it with facts. At day's end, ask one question — what is my actual evidence? Pull up the real moments instead of the feeling.

  • Felt: I ignored them. Fact: we ate together and laughed once.
  • Felt: I lost it. Fact: I yelled, then said sorry.
  • Felt: total failure. Fact: they are fed, safe, and asleep.

The feeling is loud. The evidence is usually kinder, and the evidence is what is true.
