A list on the fridge fades into the wallpaper within a week unless you keep it alive.

Write or draw the rules together so every child has a hand in the final poster. Then put them on the calendar: a quick monthly check-in. Ask one thing, "Is each rule still true for us?" Drop what you have outgrown, reword what trips people up.

And name the wins out loud. "I noticed how kindly you two sorted that out" tells a child the rule is working, which is exactly why they keep choosing it.
