What Safe Struggle Looks Like

Think of safe struggle as a gym for emotional strength — and your job is to set the weight. Some examples:

  • A puzzle that takes fifteen minutes, not fifteen seconds
  • A friendship conflict they handle with coaching, not intervention
  • A chore that requires real effort, not a token task
  • A goal that takes weeks, not instant gratification

Set the weight right and your child builds the most important belief there is: "I can do hard things."
