Holding the Line

When "just one more" comes — and it will — keep your replies short and steady:

  • "I hear you. The answer is the same as before we started. Screens are done."
  • "You wish you could keep watching. What should we do next?"
  • "We agreed to two episodes. I trust you to follow our agreement."

Two traps to avoid:

  • Negotiating: turning a firm answer into a back-and-forth.
  • Threatening: "No screens tomorrow!" only escalates the fight.

Say it once, calmly, then stop talking. The argument ends the moment you stop feeding it.
