Make a Real Agreement
Vague rules invite sneaking. Spell it out instead. A simple, honest deal works better than blanket spying:
- "I won't read your private messages."
- "I do need your passcode for emergencies."
- "If something scary happens online, no punishment for telling me."
Write it down together so it's a promise, not a power move. A teen who knows the rules can trust them — and trust scales as they earn more room.
