There Is No Such Thing

The term "superfood" has no scientific or regulatory definition. It was invented by marketers to sell products at premium prices. No food has magical properties. No single berry, seed, or powder will transform your health.

That does not mean the foods labeled as "superfoods" are bad. Blueberries, kale, quinoa, and salmon are all nutritious. The problem is the implication that these foods are uniquely powerful and that you need to buy them specifically.
