PNF Stretching

PNF stretching is one effective flexibility tool, especially in programs that combine contraction, relaxation, and repeated practice. It is not magic, and static stretching can produce similar gains in many contexts. PNF works by combining a contraction with a stretch: contract the muscle for a few seconds, relax, then move a little deeper. The quick gains likely come less from changing the muscle itself and more from improved stretch tolerance — your nervous system allowing the joint to move further.
