Follow this order to build a capsule that looks expensive on any budget:

• Audit your closet: pull out what you actually wear and love; those are your starting pieces
• Spot the gaps: check that you have enough neutral bases, layers, and one or two accent colors
• Set a palette: pick three neutrals and two accents that all work together
• Fit over brand: every piece must fit well or be worth tailoring
