Build A Matrix

Before you buy anything, map your closet on paper. List your tops down one side and your bottoms across the top, then check every square where they meet.

Mark each pairing that genuinely works. Any cell that fails is a signal: swap that piece for one that coordinates with the rest. When every square earns a check, your wardrobe has no dead weight, and the outfit math from earlier actually holds in real life.
