The Power of a Belt

The fastest way to invent a waist is a belt at your natural waist (the narrowest point of your torso, usually just above the navel).

Color does some of the work too. Put a darker shade across your middle and lighter shades on your shoulders and hips, and the eye reads the dark zone as the narrow part.
