LESSON 4 · The Body-Confident Wardrobe
Your Top-Half Toolkit
The moves that quietly slim and balance a broader upper body:
- V-neck and wrap tops: draw a vertical line that narrows the chest
- Raglan sleeves: skip cap sleeves, puffed shoulders, and hard set-in seams that add or underline width
- Dark solids on top, lighter or patterned bottoms: recede the top, advance the bottom
- Single-breasted jackets: double-breasted styles pile bulk across the chest
- Vertical details: long necklaces, vertical seams, and open cardigans lengthen the torso
Down below, lean into wide-leg trousers, A-line skirts, and flared jeans that add volume past the waist.
