Fit the Widest Part

The golden rule for a broad top half: buy for your largest measurement, then tailor everywhere else. Buying for the waist when your shoulders are wider only creates pulling and gaping that adds bulk you don't have.

For jackets, the shoulder seam should land right at your shoulder bone. Too narrow pulls; too wide adds width. And keep choosing structured fabrics that hold their shape, the same ones that smooth your top half elsewhere in this lesson.
