LESSON 5 · The Body-Confident Wardrobe
Understanding Apple Proportions
The apple body shape carries weight primarily through the midsection, with the waist measuring close to or larger than the hips and shoulders. Legs are often slim and toned.

Old-school advice told apple shapes to wear tent-like tops and hide under shapeless fabric. That approach actually makes the midsection look larger, because it removes all shape from the silhouette. Modern apple styling uses structure, vertical lines, and strategic fit to create a flattering silhouette.
