Silhouettes That Work
These shapes all do the same favor: they trace your waist instead of skipping over it.
- Wrap dresses and tops: follow your curves and tie in at the narrowest point
- Pencil skirts: hug the hips while keeping the waist on display
- Fitted blazers: structured tailoring nipped in at the middle
- High-waisted trousers: sit at your waist and stretch the legs longer
- Fit-and-flare dresses: snug on top, then released into a skirt
What to skip: shift dresses with no belt, drop-waist styles, and anything cut straight up and down, which walks right past your waistline.
