Quality Indicators Worth Paying For

When you do splurge, know what genuine quality markers look like so your money goes toward real value, not just branding. Check the seams: wider seam allowances mean sturdier construction and easier alterations. Quality garments also use natural buttons like horn or mother of pearl.

Fabric tells you a lot too. Hold it up to the light: if you can see through a supposedly opaque garment, it is too thin to last. Quality fabric drapes rather than hanging stiffly or clinging limply.

Finally, check the inside. Clean finishing, pattern matching at the seams, and reinforced stress points like pockets and buttonholes separate real quality from fast-fashion shortcuts.
