Good prep is three quick steps: cleanse, moisturize, then prime for your biggest concern. That is the whole base; everything else is optional.

The waiting matters as much as the products. Moisturizer needs about thirty seconds to absorb before primer goes on, and primer needs another thirty seconds before foundation.
