LESSON 3 · Makeup in Minutes

The One-Shadow Technique

You do not need an eyeshadow palette to create beautiful eyes. A single versatile shade applied correctly creates dimension and polish in under thirty seconds. Choose a matte shade one to two shades deeper than your skin tone.

Apply it to your crease with a fluffy brush and blend in windshield-wiper motions. Skip the lid, skip the outer-corner tricks, skip blending five shades. One shade in the crease is the professional shortcut, and it works for every eye shape because it mimics the natural shadow your eye socket already casts.
