The First Hello

Forget strapping anything on. Set the muzzle on the floor and let your dog walk over to sniff it. The second they do, drop a treat right by it. You are teaching one idea: this object makes good things appear.

Once your dog dives in happily, start counting. Have them hold their nose inside for one second, then three, then ten, feeding treats the whole time. Only when that is easy do you touch the strap: clip it and unclip it instantly, before they even notice. Slow is fast here.
