LESSON 1 · Potty Training Done Right
The Retraining Protocol
For the first stretch, run a tight schedule. Take the dog to one chosen spot outside every hour, plus right after meals, naps, and play.
Wait quietly up to five minutes. The instant they finish, mark it with a bright "yes" and pay three small treats in a row. Timing is everything: the treat has to land within two seconds, or the dog links the reward to walking back inside, not to going.
Between trips, keep them on hard floors only — tile, wood, or laminate. Most dogs dislike going on a cold, non-absorbent surface, so indoors quietly stops being tempting while outside pays off every time.
