LESSON 4 · Potty Training Done Right

A Different Kind of Leak

Submissive peeing isn't joy — it's worry. It shows up when a dog feels cornered or scolded: you lean over them, lock eyes, or raise your voice, and a little urine appears. In dog language that puddle is a white flag.

The cure for a worried dog is a confident one. Teach easy tricks and reward like they just won a prize — every success tells them the world is safe. Let them come to you instead of reaching for them, and crouch sideways rather than looming overhead, which reads as a threat.
