Your pupils snap wide the moment the lights drop — fast, automatic, no decision involved. The bladder sphincter does the same thing when your dog's excitement surges: it loosens before any thought can stop it. Small breeds and very young pups leak easiest, simply because a tiny bladder holds less in reserve. A few high-strung adults never fully grow out of it — their arousal dial just runs hot.
