LESSON 5 · Potty Training Done Right

The Hormone Factor

Neutering cuts the testosterone that can fuel territorial marking, but it is not a magic eraser. Studies and clinical summaries often report improvement in roughly 60 to 80 percent of intact male dogs, with many improving partially and a smaller subset showing a near-total drop. If the habit is established, training and management still matter.

For a dog already in the habit, neutering is one piece, not the cure. You still have to retrain through management and reward.
