Stress Signals to Watch

Panting when it is not hot, yawning repeatedly, scratching when not itchy, and shaking off as if wet when dry are all displacement behaviors that indicate stress. These signals are easy to miss because they look like normal actions.

Whale eye, a tucked tail, ears pinned flat, and freezing in place are escalating stress indicators. A dog displaying multiple signals simultaneously is reaching its tolerance limit and needs space before the situation escalates further.
