LESSON 5 · The Trust Bond
Two Faces of Fear
Broken trust does not look the same in every dog. A bold dog tends to go loud: stiffening, growling, snapping, or biting when it feels cornered. A soft dog goes quiet: it stops offering behaviors, avoids your eyes, and tries to shrink out of view. The loud one looks like aggression; the quiet one looks like calm. Both are the same thing in disguise: fear with no safe exit. Read the temperament, and you will read the fear correctly.
