Even a spotless room has a weak point: the moment no one is watching. A bored dog with full house access will eventually find the one thing you forgot to put away. So when you genuinely cannot supervise, do not gamble on willpower. Limit the dog to a crate or a small puppy-proofed space with a couple of great chews to keep busy.
