Every reactive dog has a threshold distance: the point where they notice the trigger but can still think.

To find the threshold, approach a trigger slowly and watch your dog. The instant they notice it — ears up, body stills, a hard stare — but stay calm enough to take a treat, stop. That spot is your starting line.
