The Release Is Everything

The stay is only as strong as the release. If your dog decides when to leave the mat, the cue slowly falls apart. So end every rep yourself with one clear word — "okay" or "free" — and reward away from the mat once. The lesson lands fast: nothing good happens by self-releasing, and staying put is what pays. Be boring and consistent here, and duration takes care of itself.
