Why Roll Over Is Advanced

Roll over is not one move. Your dog drops into a down, turns onto one side, rolls onto their back, then finishes the rotation to standing.

Body shape matters too. Large dogs and deep-chested breeds find the rotation physically awkward, so they may roll slowly or stall halfway.

Never push a dog through a roll that hurts. If they tense up or brace, you have gone too far. A good roll over looks fluid and willing — never forced.
