LESSON 5 · Protect Yourself Online

Your Safe Browsing Checklist

A few simple habits cover most of the risk:

  • Keep your browser updated — updates patch flaws that attackers actively exploit
  • Check for the padlock — confirm HTTPS before typing passwords or card numbers
  • Use a reputable content blocker — full uBlock Origin on Firefox/Brave, or uBlock Origin Lite/an MV3-compatible blocker on Chrome
  • Download from official sources only — sketchy installers are a top infection route
  • Use private windows for sensitive tasks — they skip storing local history and cookies

Safe browsing is not paranoia — it is reducing risk through simple habits.
