Defend your attention with the seriousness you would defend your money:

  • Audit your attention spending — track screen time for a week, because the numbers will likely shock you
  • Invest in high-return activities — reading books, learning skills, and deep conversations compound over time
  • Recognize manipulation — when you feel outrage or compulsion, ask whether the platform engineered that feeling

Create attention-protected zones where no digital interruption is allowed. Practice sustained focus starting with 25-minute blocks. Your attention determines the quality of your life more than almost any other factor.
