Invisible Sunburn Rays
Just beyond violet light lies ultraviolet radiation. You cannot see it, but your skin certainly detects it — UV causes sunburn, skin aging, and can trigger skin cancer.

Many animals see UV light that humans cannot. Bees use it to find flowers — petals have UV patterns invisible to us that act as landing strips pointing toward nectar. Sunscreen works by absorbing UV before it reaches your skin cells.
