LESSON 1 · Electricity & Circuits Demystified

Charge Is Everywhere

Right now, sitting in your chair, you're a seething ball of electric charge. Every atom in your body contains protons (positive) and electrons (negative). Normally they balance out, so you feel nothing.

The reason you don't constantly electrocute your friends is charge neutrality — most objects carry equal positive and negative charges. But the moment you disturb that balance through friction, induction, or contact, things get interesting fast.
