LESSON 4 · Electricity & Circuits Demystified

Your Home, Decoded

The electricity entering your home is AC at 120V (North America) or 230V (most of the world). It arrives at your breaker panel, which splits it into individual circuits for different rooms and appliances.

Every device with a charger or adapter converts AC back to DC internally. Your laptop charger, phone charger, and TV all contain rectifier circuits that strip out the alternating part and smooth the current into steady DC.
