The 1915 Canakkale Bridge
Opened in 2022, this suspension bridge crosses the Dardanelles strait. Its span length commemorates 2023, the centenary of the Turkish Republic, founded in 1923. Over a span that long, the towers are not quite parallel: they tilt apart by a tiny amount because the curve of the Earth means 'straight up' points in slightly different directions at each tower.
