Topspin Weaponry

With topspin, the ball's top surface spins forward. The Magnus effect pushes it downward, adding to gravity's pull, so the ball dips faster than an unspun shot.

This lets you hit harder while keeping the ball in play — topspin yanks it down inside the baseline where a flat shot would fly long. On the bounce, it kicks high and fast, so the opponent meets a ball at shoulder height with heavy pace. The harder you spin it, the steeper that dive and the higher that kick.
