Fiber Feeds the Right Side

Fiber is one of the strongest diet levers for your microbiome because many helpful gut bacteria eat what you cannot digest. When they break down fiber, they release short-chain fatty acids that calm inflammation, feed colon cells, and help regulate appetite.

A low-fiber diet starves those bacteria. A high-fiber diet gives them fuel, but the result still depends on the rest of the diet, the person, and the microbes already present.
