Mendeleev arranged elements by atomic weight, but a few elements were out of order.

Moseley was still in his mid-twenties when he made this breakthrough. Tragically, he was killed at Gallipoli in 1915 during World War I. His death was considered such a loss that the British government changed its policy and stopped sending prominent scientists to the front lines.
