LESSON 4 · The Periodic Table: A Story of Elements
Noble Gases in Action
The same glow trick scales up in xenon headlights. Instead of heating a filament, an electric arc jumps through xenon gas and excites its atoms directly. As the electrons settle back down, they release an intense, bluish-white light that closely mimics daylight. The result is sharper visibility than halogen bulbs while drawing less energy — which is why xenon lamps became a premium upgrade on cars.
